Well Autumn is in full swing and soon the leaves will display their brilliant colorful foliage to marvel and delight us. Moms are happy that school is back in session freeing up a moment or two to sit at the craft table and let those creative juices flow!
Kathleen here with you sharing a layout I created in a steampunk style. This is my dad in his younger days. I really didn’t want to adhere anything to the picture so the top frame is put in place with just a couple of gel dots. This is why you see the shadow on the picture.
I love using 7 Dots Studio products. I used a paper with a neutral background to balance all of the different color paints and masks.
For this layout I first applied my mists beginning with the blues one on top of the other blending them as they dried. Next, I came back with yellow, copper, and white making bold splashes finishing up with more petite splashes in blues. This was followed by randomly applying orange modeling paste with a script mask.
Here you can see close ups of some of the many stamps I used in creating my background.
Steampunk is all about sci fi and the industrial feel. He you can see how I layered in gears, keys, spiral, copper beads representing ball bearings.
Two new 7 Dots Studio collections, Cotton Candy and Writer’s Block, will be arriving soon in the store! Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek. Happy crafting!
