CHA Winter 2015 mega show Fun! Part 1
This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend CHA Mega Show 2015 in Anaheim. Luckily for me one of our wonderful DT members Thandar lives in the area and welcomed me to stay with her. Good for you too cause that meant more shopping money!!!!! Tradeoff was that she came with me to the show. Tough times haha. This was both our first time at the show and it was a lot to take in!
We arrived early on Saturday to plan out our attack. There were a lot of booths and not a lot of time! We prioritized the booths and hit the ground running – almost literally haha!
We spent quite a bit of time at the Prima booth. We did a make and take with the talented Jamie. Had the opportunity to play with the NEW watercolor pencils, tags, and the stamps.
We had the chance to watch the beautifully talented Finnabair demonstrate her new mixed medias.
I love the variety of colors and the different textures of the medias – the glass glitter and the mica flakes are probably my favorite. They are in all different sizes so the textures are more random.
The gesso and the sand texture paste should be on the top of your “must-have” list
The Color Lab is a pretty awesome kit – the starter kit comes with 8 different mica powders – 5 basic colors and 3 shimmers. Then you can play scientist and mix the colors into the bottles to personalize your color sprays! The powders will be enough for 30 bottles of spray. That’s a lot for the price. And if you prefer – you can use the mica powders to mix with your favorite art mediums – gesso, gel, even just water for the watercolor effect. I am so excited to play with these.
An added feature is the bottles have a locking feature, so you can lock them when traveling and not worry about them spraying all over your supplies
Here is a picture of Thandar playing with the sprays on a white flower.
Here we are with the lovely Marion herself!!! She is so sweet, and her husband Garret is a perfect gentleman. I feel very fortunate to have met them both.
Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for when you are able to pre order the papers!! Remember it is 15% off pre-orders.
One of my favorite things to owning my own business is searching out small scrapbook manufacturers. Pinkfresh is a fun company with some sweet gals running the show. You may have heard of them before as they have had success with their embellishments. This is their first full paper collection and I am super excited to carry it in the Nani ke Ola store! This paper is so fun and perfect for spring.
There is a mix of geometric designs along with softer pastel watercolor papers.
I know our design team is going to have some great projects using these papers. Thinking of some cute Easter cards that can be made with these.
We are also getting in most of the embellishments and, my favorite – Washi tape!! I love their two toned washi tape!
These papers and embellishments should be shipping in the next month or so, and again, keep an eye out for when the pre orders are available.
It may not show up in the pictures very well, but the diecuts and journal cards have some great gold foil accents. mmmm shiny. I do love me some shiny!
Well, I think that’s enough for this post, lots of pictures and info! I will be posting the second part in just a couple days! Luv ya!
